Award Winning Self Catering Holidays
Several Yorkshire-area companies that offer self catering holidays received national recognition at an awards ceremony called the Enjoy England Awards.
A self catering holiday business in North Yorkshire, The Deep in Hull, Chatsworth House and a couple who rent out log cabins in Matlock were all gold medal winners. The Dovecote Barns in Kelfield, North Yorkshire, was named self catering holiday of the year, while The Deep won recognition for its efforts to make the attraction accessible. Chatsworth House won first prize for the large visitor attraction category, which is for venues that receive over 100,000 visitors a year. Hoe Grange Holidays, based at Matlock in Derbyshire, won a gold accessibility award as well. The Royal Shakespeare Company, in Stratford-upon-Avon, won the outstanding contribution to tourism award for being a leading promoter of theater in the country.
